Why private lessons

A lesson made for you, just for you.

1-on-1 is the most powerful accelerator for progressing in speaking. Here's what changes.

100% tailor-made

Your level, your goals, your vocabulary. Everything is adapted to you.

All the speaking time

No waiting, no sharing. You speak, we correct, we replay.

Total flexibility

You choose your time slots. We adapt to your schedule, your timezone, your rhythm.

Ideal for a clear goal

Work, exams (DELF, DALF), interviews, public speaking — we target your need.

How it works

Here's what we do together.

A simple journey that starts with a 15-minute introduction.

Step 1

15 free minutes to meet

We meet on Google Meet. You tell me about yourself, your level, your goal. I'll tell you if I can help — no pressure.

Step 2

Personalized plan

I propose a path: what we work on, how many sessions, at what frequency. You validate or we adjust.

Step 3

1-on-1 lessons on Google Meet

Guided conversation, targeted correction, breakthrough. You speak, a lot. I correct, I explain, we replay.

Step 4

Follow-up between sessions

Written memo after each lesson, vocabulary to review, and possible messages between sessions to keep momentum.

The human behind the method

Hi, I'm Thomas.

Founder of Apprendre le French Academy.

For 10 years, I was a primary school teacher in France. Ten years teaching French to children — understanding how a language is learned, what blocks people, what unblocks them.

Then 3 years ago, I discovered your world: the world of French-as-a-foreign-language learners. I started creating content on YouTube, Instagram, Spotify. And I noticed one thing that struck me: you understand everything, but you get stuck when it's time to speak.

I also completed the university degree in teaching French as a foreign language (DU), but mostly I learned in the field — little by little, listening to what you told me, testing, adjusting.

5 months ago, I left the French education system to dedicate myself full-time to this mission. It's not a side project — it's my job, it's my life.

In private lessons, what I offer you: a clear framework, attentive follow-up, and lots of speaking time. We move at your pace, no pressure, but with high standards.

Your questions

The questions I often get asked.

The price depends on the frequency and number of sessions. That's exactly what we look at together during the 15 free minutes: I propose a formula adapted to your goal and your budget. No bad surprises.
From A2 (you can hold a simple conversation). If you're a complete beginner, I'll tell you during the call and guide you toward the best solution for you.
It depends on you. Most of my students take 1 lesson per week, some take 2. We look together at what's realistic for your rhythm and your goal.
We meet on Google Meet. The lesson usually lasts 1 hour. We talk a lot, I correct in real time, I explain what's blocking you, and you practice. After the lesson, I send you a written memo with vocabulary and points to review.
You can cancel or reschedule a session up to 24 hours in advance, free of charge. Beyond that, the session is due — but I always make arrangements for real emergencies.
Totally possible — and that's exactly why the 15 minutes exist. You leave with nothing owed, and I can recommend another format or another teacher from the team. The idea is for you to find the right solution — not necessarily me.
